Chili, Cornbread, Carrots, & COSTUMES!!!

It's Fall...well, at least in parts of the US it's Fall. We decided to have a Fall party, complete with cool weather eats and costumes. I don't think I have ever sweat so much while making chili or eating it. HA!
~~~
Dressing up takes an added dose of creativity when you live in a land that doesn't celebrate Halloween and there isn't a Walmart for several thousand miles. It was fun to gather for an evening of good food and see what the families in the area came up with for costumes.
~~~
We saw all sorts of fun stuff put to use to create costumes...curtains, sheets (not in use for a ghost), eye liner got a good workout creating tattoos as well as decorating eyes, duct tape (the missionary's best friend), cardboard, old boxes, Christmas decor, and more.

The Cool "E"s were all there in style.

Here is "The Finnster." He is our neighbor boy, Finn. He came as a biker dude. It was a very appropriate costume, since about every 5th word that comes out of his mouth is "Motorbike!"

Love his tattoos...

Lady Liberty made a shining appearance.

Mrs. Pinheiro, our resident Pine Tree, decked herself out in Christmas Decor. She could have even twinkled all evening, if she would have stayed next to the wall all night. :o)

Moses came with his mother, Pharoah's daughter and grandfather, Pharoah, if we keep the relationships accurate to the Bible.

Calvin and Hobbs raced around in their little red wagon.

Daisy May came for an evening of fun and hopes that the permanent marker she used on her tooth won't really be permanent. Hee Hee

Kimi the cute little butterfly graced us all with her presence.

Achmed, the Friendly Terrorist (is that oxymoron possible??) won a very appropriate prize in the door prizes. There were all sorts of "neat" prizes...little plastic bowls, pens, cake decorating sprinkles (Nathanael won those), army toys, snacks that look (and taste) like flavored styrofoam (Hannah won some of those), and many other interesting and fun prizes.

Here is a modern day terrorist and his ancient world counterpart.

Flower Girl and Flight Girl pose for a couple of pictures.

We had several soccer players show up for the party, as well as a light socket. Hmmm...maybe the Pine Tree should have stuck around her.

Cool "E" #4 hangs out with her Broadway Star friend.

Indiana Jones, with his Rock Star wife, and their two kids; the biker dude, and Misto Man (a cross between Spider Man, Bat Man, and Wolverine).
~~~
It was a fun night with lots of laughs, good food, good fellowship. There were many other great costumes there that night too. Great creativity!
~~~
Happy Fall!
