From the Minneapolis area we headed north with our college friends to their family cabin on Tulaby Lake. We had an excellent time relaxing and catching up!
We made our traditional journey to Itasca State Park to see the headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi River.
We've been taking a picture like this for years.
Soon the parents will have to stand in front to be seen since the kids are all getting so big.

The guys and kids spent time swimming in the lake. The water was a bit frigid to me. There was ice on it just 6 weeks previous to our time there. Brrr...
We spent our time swimming, boating, playing cards, reading, biking, laughing, tubing, eating s'mores, & hanging out. It was an incredible few days of fun with great friends ~ way too short, but tons of fun.

Welcome to North Dakota!

From Northern MN we headed to Dennis' Aunt Kathy and Uncle Tom's farm in Oriska, ND.
We spent 5 days on the farm enjoying being with family and getting to know Pete & Kelly's (our cousins) little 15 month old daughter, Claire.
We spent one day having an "out of this world" meal at Space Aliens, visiting a zoo filled with neat North American animals like buffalo, wolves, & prairie dogs, as well as some traditional zoo animals like camels & Chinese red pandas. Later Dennis and the kids caught a movie (without subtitles) and I went shopping with Aunt Kathy, Kelly, & Claire.

We were able to spend a couple of afternoons with Dennis' 94 year old Grandma.
We are thankful for every moment that we have with our family.
